Old Forge Post Office May Close - Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 7:20PM EST

OLD FORGE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- There's talk in Old Forge that the borough's post office which opened more than 160 years ago may close down.
The landlord of the building tells Eyewitness News he received a letter from the post office. It informed him the post office plans to move out on May 29th.

Congressman Paul Kanjorski's office has been contacted about the problem. Now people are concerned about the future of their post office. Postal worker Rebecca Dutkevitch said, "Horrible, it's close by. Why go all the way to Scranton when there's one right here?"

Eyewitness News contacted the American Postal Workers Union. They told us they're looking into the reports the Old Forge Post Office may close down.
