WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Testimony will resume Wednesday morning in Luzerne County Court for a former cop charged with killing his wife.

Opening statements and witness testimony started on Tuesday in the trial of 36-year-old Jeffery Dennis. Prosecutors say he killed 30-year-old Carli Dennis last year at their home on 9th Street in Wyoming.

Jeffrey Dennis claims his wife killed herself. He's a former police officer for Dallas Township and has been jailed since being charged with first-degree murder on March 10, 2006.

Prosecutors will seek life in prison.
