On Wednesday, March 18, after arresting 22 drug dealers for selling $3.6 million in cocaine over the past year, police and state investigators uncovered a possible meth lab in Nanticoke.
The discovery was found after several members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were arrested in the drug raid earlier in the day. The Outlaws are based in Wilkes-Barre and Ashley.
Tom Corbett, Pennsylvania's Attorney General, told reporters, "Think of this as an illegal fraternity. If you were in a fraternity…they had the same type of structure. They had their reporting requirements. The members have requirements to attend what they call runs."
The discovery of the lab in Nanticoke caused a family living in the upstairs of the building to be evacuated. HazMat teams were brought in to clean the home of dangerous materials and recover any evidence.
Neighbors, like Bill Cup, living in the area are concerned about the discovery. "That concerns you a lot. What if they blew up? You know? That could have got their house, our house…We live right next door to them…And we got a grand daughter here. She's what? Nine-years-old," he says. | | |
