SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - The owner of a sporting goods shop in Scranton is dead after a shooting inside his store Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at Bill's Sporting Goods on North Main Avenue just before 1:00 PM.

Police say the owner, Ted Warholic, was showing a customer a gun when the firearm discharged.

Warholic was shot in the chest. He died at the scene.

Several other people were inside the store at the time.

The Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office will have to determine whether or not the shooting was accidental.
