DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - After years of planning and construction, the ribbon was finally cut Thursday afternoon on the brand new business building at Penn State Worthington Scranton. The building was a $6 million effort.

"It's beautiful. It's perfect. You can see everything. They have microphones in case you can't hear. It's beautiful," senior Ashley Kovalik said.

The new building not only has classrooms and lecture halls but also a Wall Street style trading floor.

Senior Edmund Brogenski remembers the first time he walked in.

"I was like wow -- just wow -- just unbelieveably a feeling of awe and I felt proud that I go here," Brogenski said.

Faculty and staff hope the new business building will bring in even more students. This campus has had an 11 percent increase in enrollment over the past year.

"The design in this building is beautiful. The colors are like home," Mary-Beth Krogh-Jesperson said. Krogh-Jesperson is the Chancellor at Penn State Worthington Scranton.

Another benefit of the building is that it will bring all of the students together for classes.

"Before, all of the classes were strung about the other three buildings but now all the business classes are in the same building. We're all together," junior Kala Cieciorka said.

"Someday I hope to actually be a teacher and who knows, hopefully I'll be able to teach in this building," Brogenski said.

The new building will not just be for students. It will be open to community groups and agencies for special presentations.
