LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- The crowds voiced their opinions from both sides of the Lake-Lehman teacher's strike at Tuesday night's school board meeting.

Board members met and many students, parents and taxpayers showed up to talk about the lack of negotiations between the teachers and school board on a contract agreement.

Teachers will hit the picket lines for a third day Wednesday which means classes are canceled again. Neither side has agreed on a current contract in 21-months. The main sticking points are salaries and health care.

Several people spoke in support of the teachers saying they deserve fair pay. Charles Balavage, the President of Lake-Lehman School Board had this to say, "The sad thing is they will not lose a penny over this and anybody else in a union if strike, not made will not lose a penny."

Prior to the meeting dozens of representatives from several different school districts showed up in support of the teachers' union.

A communications director with the Pennsylvania State Education Association says the State Department of Education will let them know this week when they have to legally return to the classroom.
