WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- A couple of streets are closed this morning after part of a college-owned building collapsed overnight.

Part of the facade of the building owned by Wilkes University came tumbling down just after 3:00 A.M. The building is on West Ross Street and South River Street. South River is closed between Ross and South while Ross is closed between River and Franklin.

A university spokesperson says that the building was acquired about a year ago, however it was deemed unsafe so the university was planning to demolish it. That demolition will now begin later today.
