Muncy Township, Lycoming County-

There's a new place to spend your dough in Lycoming County. It’s located just off Interstate 180 next to the Lycoming Mall in Muncy Township.

Cars fill the lot at the Lycoming Crossing Shopping Center, and patrons hurry in to check out the newly opened stores. Heather Voitek, of Hughesville, said, "I really like them. It's nice. I was in Wilkes-Barre originally, so I've been to Target and these kinds of stores before. So it's nice to see them in this area."

Retail giant Target is the anchor store here, and seems to be the main attraction for shoppers. "Love it! It was real clean, real friendly. Did some shopping for the kids. Kids clothes are fantastic here," Voitek added.

Megan Matrey, of Selinsgrove, noted, "I thought the store was real nice. Everything I saw online that I wanted to get for my college apartment they had, so it was nice. Didn't have to worry about it."

Customers we spoke with say the shopping center's convenient location and variety of stores are very appealing. Voitek explained, "I like the idea that Bed, Bath, and Beyond is right here too. It's real convenient."

Petco opened just about a week ago, and the Ross Dress For Less store should be up and running soon. There's also Michael's the Arts and Crafts Store, Circuit City, and plenty more.

Matrey said, "It reminds me of the one down in Harrisburg. I usually like to go down to that one. It's by the Colonial Park Mall, so it's nicer because it's quicker to get up here than it is down to Harrisburg."

About 80 percent of the space here at Lycoming Crossing is already leased. The rest is expected to be filled in the very near future.

People we spoke with don't think the stores at Lycoming Crossing will have a negative impact on the nearby Lycoming Mall. Most say they'll spend their time and money at both locations.
