Peacock Found - Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 9:14PM EST

Thursday, Jul 24, 2008 @ 09:14pm EST
Taylor, Lackawanna County -

What has two strong legs and hundreds of colorful feathers? If you said "Lucky" your exactly right. This peacock was found Wednesday night by Jerry Dimick as he was driving along Route 307 in Lackawanna County. Dimick didn't want the bird to get hit by a car so he plucked him up, put him in his pick-up and brought him home.
Neighbor's and kids alike spent all day Thursday admiring the bird. The Dimick's fed "Lucky" bread and water, birdseed and even paper as he spent time in a back room. They checked on him almost every hour overnight.
But now "Lucky" is lucky to have a new home. He's been adopted by a women from Lake Ariel who has a farm with other peacocks. A happy ending, to the unique tale, of one feathered friend.
Dimick says he decided to pick up "Lucky" the peacock because he's an animal lover and he would do it all over again.
