PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- Many of you have heard of "Thon", Penn State's annual fundraiser for children with cancer. And this weekend you can help raise money, too.
Eyewitness News caught up with some Penn State students along River Street near the Cross Valley Expressway. They are collecting donations to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital. This student -- and several others -- came in from University Park for the weekend.
PSU student Larissa Pilipshen says they will be collecting donations at busy intersections Sunday, too, including Coal Street and Wilkes-Barre Boulevard.
Since 1977, "Thon" has raised more than $52-million for children with cancer. | | |
