Montoursville, Lycoming County-
It was a food fight at PennDOT's district office in Montoursville, but perhaps not the kind you'd expect.
Employees of three different departments at PennDOT competed to see who could collect the most food for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
PennDOT Project Manager Virginia Feigles-Kaar noted, "Right now times are a little tough for a lot of people. If you give a couple cans of food it certainly isn't going to hurt you. You're not going to miss it. So every little bit helps, do your part."
In all, nearly a ton of food was collected here, plus enough money to buy another 900 pounds worth.
Congratulations go out to PennDOT's Construction Department for winning the food fight.
Similar contests are also taking place at other PennDOT locations throughout the area.
