Pens in Stanley Cup Finals on WBRE
Pens in Stanley Cup Finals on WBRE - Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 9:58PM EST
WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- Detroit may be known as Hockeytown but Eyewitness News found plenty of hockey fans here in Northeast PA Saturday night.
We stopped by Lucky's Sporthouse in Wilkes-Barre Township where fans were watching Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on WBRE. It's a rematch of last year's finals that saw Detroit take the cup.
This year pens fans are hoping some help from our local Penguins will be enough to make the difference. Danielle Baker from Pittston Township said, "I'm a big fan of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins and I like watching our Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins on the Pittsburgh Penguins now. So I think these guys are prepared and I think they want it really, really badly this year so I think they're gonna do it."
Matt Felter from Avoca added, "Pittsburgh's definitely winning this. It's our second time against them. I think we have the better team this year, better talent, and we're the young, good team this year."
Unfortunately for these fans the Pittsburgh Penguins lost Game 1 to the Detroit Red Wings, 3-1. Game 2 is Sunday night at 8:00 P. M. on WBRE. | |
