WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Driving throughout the city and along nearby interstates, cars were slipping and sliding on the snow roads, while some were doing just fine. Drivers told us they were taking the storm in stride.

"It's important just to get home," said Kevin from Clarks Summit, who left work early and said he'd go one-half or one-third the speed limit to stay safe. "How fast I get there is not nearly important as just getting there. So, I'm going to take my time.

"The roads were good early this morning," said Caesar Delgadillo of Scranton. "But the weather continues to get more chilly and more snow is falling."

We caught up with snow plowers, who said Eyewitness Accuweather kept them ahead of the storm.

"When they said one to two inches would fall each hour, they hit it right on," said Dave May with D&R Contracting out of Dallas. "It came down hard and fast for about five to six hours."

May says his crew got out before 8am Friday to get started, and they anticipated an eight-hour day of plowing. But he says it's far from the worst he's seen.

"The blizzard of '93 tops them all," said May, who's been plowing for 25 years. "We had about 110 hours in eight days there -- 40 hours straight. That was a good storm."

We saw one driver who slid down the road from the VA hospital and get stuck on a median, but he was okay. Drivers we spoke with say, slick roads come with the territory.

"Roads are pretty bad," said Dave Jenkins of Moscow. "But what do you expect? It's December. It's Northeast PA. No big deal."
