We asked some of you,
what you would like to hear from today's Iraq War progress report.
Jack Genners of Bloomsburg
isn't buying into report.
He says General David Patraeus
likely isn't telling the whole story.
"I would like to
see him say that, but he won't. For several reasons, one he's a general, and
his commander in chief is the president. So he's not going to go back against
him," says Genners.
Genners and others here
in Bloomsburg shared their thoughts on Monday's progress report.
Nick Karnes of Orangeville
hopes it will change the course of the war.
"Hopefully we are
making progress because if we're not making progress than why do we keep
wanting to send more and more troops over to Iraq if we're not getting
the job done there," says Karnes.
And while some are
skeptical about this report, others we talked with in Bloomsburg are
optimistic.
They'd like to see
positive progress with this report, and in the war in Iraq.
"I would like to
hear that it's positive, that we're actually doing something and that we're
actually making an effort for the war to end, and we're actually getting
something out of it," says Eileen Burkett.
Patraeus and U.S. Ambassador
to Iraq Ryan Crocker say a troop drawdown is possible.
But that might not
happen until this December at the earliest.
Karen Blackway of Elysburg
says that's not soon enough.
"Regardless of the
time involved and so on, i just believe that we should bring them home." Says
Blackway.
That's something that
many here are hoping for sooner than later.
