Pesky Potholes - Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 5:29PM EST

They can ruin your alignment and flatten tires.

Sometimes they're pretty bad in the city of Wilkes-Barre.

You don't have to drive far to find one.

Drivers hit potholes on Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Diana Decker says, "I go faster because i think you get through them better."

David and Diana Decker know all about pesky potholes.

They say, "I got to hold on! He's just holding on. It's a fact of life. You just have to live with them. You can't go through Wilkes-Barre without potholes."

Another driver seems to feels the same way saying, "Awful, it's really awful. Your tires go out, the air goes out of them and everything. Wilkes-Barre's terrible."

Almost matching thoughts from Leona Flannery of Wilkes-Barre.

She ran over one minutes before we talked with her.

Flannery says, "The potholes are a big problem. But they're trying to fix them. I see a few trucks out."

And we saw a few trucks out too.

Department of public works crews were cold patching potholes here on River Street.

These guys have been patching holes all day, but it's not long before cars start driving right over them.

And it won't be long before they have to hit the road, and patch potholes again.

DPW worker Matthew Scot says, "It's unlimited. After these snowstorms all this cold patch gets picked right up."

And we can expect plows to ruin these cold patches, because we're expecting snow.
