Phylicia Thomas' Family Talks After Bones Found - Friday, April 16, 2010 at 04:04AM EST

Friday April 16 2010
On Tuesday, police identified a human skull as Jen Barsiloski's, a Lake Township teenager missing since 2001.

Her friend, Phylicia Thomas went missing in that same area three years later. Thomas is still missing.

When police identified bones found in Hunlock Township woods this week Phylicia Thomas's family heart dropped. Thomas's sister, Jocelynn Thomas said, "Made us think that it was her and after six years we could just finally be able to put her to rest and feels like it's the same day all over again six years ago."

Thomas disappeared in that area in 2004 but the skull found wasn't hers, it was her friends Jen Barziloski's. The two girls were friends. Barziloski disappeared near the same woods in 2001.

Thomas's family has never stopped looking since she went missing. Thomas's mother, Pauline Bailey said, "You still have this big inside and it's not going away none and we're not giving up on looking for Phylicia."

Thomas's cousin, Yvonne Confletti said, "We were sick to our stomach's. we did think it was Phylicia. we thought we were getting called in but thank god it was Jennifer because now they have to look for Phylicia "

The only link to both Thomas and Barziloski was Steve Martin. He was last man to see both girls. Martin hanged himself in while he was in prison on other charges adding to the mystery.

Thomas's mom says she trusts police will solve the case no matter how long it takes. Bailey said, "I think they really want to crack this too. and finding that we know we're getting somewhere. at least you all know I'm not crazy when i was saying you need to go up there with dogs now."

The family of Jen Barziloski will hold a memorial service this Saturday, April 24th. The service will begin at 2:00 P. M. at Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Harvey's Lake.
