WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY --Pine Grove Area High School is mourning the death of 17- year-old Bradley Wolfe. The senior was killed in a car accident on Newswanger Road, in the township around 7:45pm Thursday.
Flowers mark the spot where Wolfe died Thursday night after being thrown from his truck. His passenger, 17- year- old Tim Thomas was injured.
Tyler Scheib says "I'm just shocked. They were two very good people."
Scheib is Tim's cousin, came to the scene to try to make sense of what happened on this road the two knew so well. Scheib says "every single day they come from his house, they come down here around 7:30 when it happened to go to the gas station down here and get two iced teas everyday. That's why I can't figure out how today, yesterday they wrecked by themselves."
Pennsylvania State Police say Wolfe lost control of his truck around the curve. He overcompensated, flipped and hit this hickory tree. The car landed next to it. The two were thrown from the truck. Police believe Wolfe was speeding and neither was wearing a seatbelt.
Pine Grove Area High School principal David Jones says “the loss of Brad has hit our seniors very badly. Our staff has been affected because everybody kind of knew him and like I said earlier he was the kind of individual that everybody knew and liked."
Counselors were on hand at all the districts’ schools Friday to help grieving students cope with the loss of a young life taken too soon.
As of Friday afternoon, Timothy Thomas was being treated at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. We are told his condition does not appear to be life-threatening. | | |
