Pittston Area Plays Ball after Swine Flu Shutdown

Pittston Area Plays Ball after Swine Flu Shutdown - Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 12:05PM EST

Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009 @ 12:05am EDT
HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY-A swine flu scare at Pittston Area is met with humor in Hazleton.
A pig mask and surgical masks are worn by Hazleton Cougars to welcome the Pittston Patriots.
The Monday match up was postponed from Friday.
But Pittston area students say they're good sports. They took the humor and jokes in stride.
School administrators last week ordered Pittston area closed after 800 students called out sick.
Unconfirmed, but upwards of a dozen kids were said to have the H-1 N-1 virus.
But the district worried and snapped into serious action, disinfecting the school and its fleet of buses.
Students say they're ready to get back to business.
And district officials are banking on things blowing over.
No other district in the area has any comparable increase in students getting sick.
