Eyewitness News has confirmed Pittston Area School Board member Joseph Oliveri has resigned from the board. He cited personal reasons for leaving. Oliveri lost his bid for re-election in the May primary.

Pittston Area is one of three public school districts that have come under scrutiny from the FBI as part of an ongoing corruption investigation in NEPA. Oliveri is not accused of any wrongdoing at this point.

Nine elected people have been arrested as part of the federal probe since January including ex-judges Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan.
