SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The former president of the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board pleaded guilty to a corruption charge Thursday.

Frank Pizzella was in federal court in Scranton. He admitted he gave $5,000 to the school board director in 2004 to help a teacher get a job. Pizzella was not on the board at the time.

Just two days ago, Pizzella told Eyewitness News that payment was a campaign contribution.
