There's plenty going on behind the scenes this week at the Little League International Complex. From last minute field work to stocking concession stands and more, everyone has a role to play.

Players are also beginning to check in. Jay Bouchey, coach of the White Rock, Canada team, said, "They were in awe once they got off the bus and we drove past the stadium. They could see it out the window and they were just anxious to get off and have a look at it. They were just awestruck. It's just amazing."

Players had their photos taken by ESPN, before settling in for afternoon practices.

There can be a lot of distractions for players in the days leading up to the Little League World Series, so coaches must work extra hard to keep them focused.

Dennis Loner is a host for the Mexican team. He noted, "They look like a pretty good team. They're well disciplined. That's one of the things they talked about that they did say to me in the room, that we're disciplined."

Bouchey explained, "Once we're on the field we'll go down and practice and make sure we're focused but up in the top with the game room and pool they'll be having some fun, blowing some energy."

Teams will have several chances to practice at the Little League International Complex the next few days before starting the World Series tournament. Bouchey added, "The whole experience is fantastic for them all, and they're all just looking forward to being part of it."

The World Series tournament begins on Friday and wraps up with the championship game August 24th.
