PARADISE TOWNSHIP - When you think of a romantic getaway you may picture Paris or the Caribbean. But one major travel website says a place close to home is just as sweet.

Ceasar's Paradise Stream resort claims to be the land of love, a slogan that according to a popular travel website, could apply to the entire Pocono region.

"It was really neat to hear that what we're offering here at the resort is something that people are enjoying so much that it actually puts us on the map as one of the top ten," said Ceasar's Honeymoon Concierge Francis Cruz.

Tripadvisor.com ranks the Pocono Mountain region as one of the ten most romantic destinations in the entire world. Honeymooners Michael and Margaret Laporte are just one set of love birds in the Poconos this week.

"Our room is just wonderful. We have a pool in our room. We have a jacuzzi," said Margaret.

Glowing reviews from happy guests helped the Pocono region earn a spot along side romantic destinations like Paris and Venice on tripadvisor.

Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau director Bob Uguccioni said the recognition means more than most because it comes from Pocono visitors who write reviews and rate their experiences. "That's gold. That's platinum. That's a lot different than us saying it," he explained.

Visitors said the Poconos is a perfect destination for them because it's far from home but not too far. That's a big reason the Laporte's came from Massachusetts. They wanted to stay fairly close to their children. And while they love their kids, it's going to be tough for them to leave their romantic hideaway.

"Everybody's been nice here. We've really enjoyed ourselves," said Michael. "We're not gonna want to leave on Thursday," added Margaret.
