MOUNT POCONO - The machines never stop at Monadnock non-wovens in Mount Pocono. The company ships plastic to places that make things like medical face masks, vacuum bags and filters.

Right now Monadnock has about 40 employees but that's not nearly enough. "Customer demand is driving the expansion - it's not speculation we have customers already lined up," said Plant Manager Keith Hayward.

It got so busy last year that Monadnock spent more than a million dollars to expand its building. Now it's time to expand the workforce. This year the company plans to add 24 jobs and as their expansion continues into next year they plan to add 36 more.

"I believe we have a really good environment. It's friendly. There's a lot of room for advancement," said Production Assistant Fern Sweeney.

Sweeney earned four promotions in the past four years and said she likes all of the opportunities Monadnock offers. Hayward said one reason the company has grown despite fears of a recession is because this is a relatively small operation that can quickly adapt to customer requests.

Hayward explained, "The big people have very, very expensive machines that are dedicated and specified to a specific use and they don't want to change them."

But Monadnock will make changes for customers. The company just needs good employees to help the machines run 24 hours a day.

The company will hire everything from machine operators to general contractors. Full time employees will earn between 12 and 15 dollars an hour. To apply call 570-839-9210.
