MONROE COUNTY- A Monroe County man could spend nearly 100 years behind bars for rape and attempted homicide.

A judge sentenced Derek Bengtsson to between 47 and 94 years in jail. In August of 2008 he kidnapped a 14-year-old girl at gunpoint from her Pocono home.

He then took her to a motel where he shackled and raped her. When police came in after him, he shot at three officers. None of them were hurt.
