SWIFTWATER, MONROE COUNTY -- A Pocono school district may shut down a charter school.
The Pocono Mountain School District says the Pocono Mountain Charter School should not have a license. The school board held its second of several hearings Tuesday to talk about suspected charter school violations.
The district has outlined 27 areas of concern. Spokesperson Wendy Frable said, "There are some concerns that are dealing with financial issues, there are concerns that are dealing with student performance and there are also concerns that are dealing with separation of church and state."
The charter school director says the district is unfairly targeting his school. He claims they're upset that most of the charter students are minorities who are doing very well.
The school district will continue its hearing in October. | |
