STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - Police say criminals thought they could run, but they couldn't hide.
The United States Marshalls led a criminal round up called "Operation First Light III." They worked with State Police, Pocono Mountain Regional Police, Monroe County Detectives and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Todd Martin said, "The Marshalls service was fantastic. They helped us out tremendously in gathering some intel that we might not have been able to get." In all law enforcement was able to clear 28 warrants during the sweep. Chief County Detective Eric Kerchner said,"They thought maybe law enforcement had forgotten about them - and we didn't."
The arrests included alleged bank robber Gregory Wagner. Police found him in North Carolina. Officers say he poured lighter fluid on a bank teller's station and demanded cash.
Another big catch was Eric Martinborough. They caught up with him in Scranton. He was wanted on about 70 charges related to sexually assaulting a 13 year old.
Police also caught James O'Connor in Delaware. He has a long charge list for stalking and terroristic threats. Martin said "I'm happy to say it was quite a success."
Criminals beware. Police and detectives say this may be the first round up here but it won't be the last. Martin smiled, "We might not get you today. We might not get you tomorrow but we'll get ya."
