EAST STROUDSBURG - Stroud Area Regional Police recently received a $11,500 grant to increase quality of life patrols. They are pro active street watching missions. Officers try to spot trouble makers before any one commits a crime or gets hurt.

They will use the money to increase patrols on holiday and big party weekends.

They concentrate on problem areas, especially around East Stroudsburg University. Officers say Labor Day weekend is a big party time around there.

When Eyewitness News joined them on Friday night, officers busted an underage drinking party. The students got off with a warning. But if it happens again they could face fines or even jail time. The borough of East Stroudsburg and the University were notified about the problem. They can discipline the students if they choose.
