FORTY FORT, LUZERNE COUNTY - More than 100 people turned out to honor a well known police chief. Wilkes-Barre Township Police Chief Robert Brozowski died Tuesday. He was 61 years old.
At least fifty police officers and dozens of motorcycle riders joined the procession to honor Brozowski. Wayne Grilz from Band of Brothers Ghost Riders said,"That's what these guys are all about is for somebody like him and to give him a good send off."
It was a good send off for a good man. Grilz explained, "Nobody could say anything bad about Bob - Bob was a good guy."
Brozowski spent nearly 40 years on the Police Department - 20 of them as Chief. Wilkes-Barre Township Fire Chief Jim Youkiski said he liked working with Brozowski because, "[He was] a Very respectful man. Treated our department with a lot of respect and we're here today to pay our respect to him."
Brozowski served his town and his country. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War so he was buried with military honors.
Outside of work the Chief enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He leaves behind his mother, wife and four children.
Brozowski died after battling a lengthy illness. He was laid to rest in Fern Knoll Burial Park after a Mass of Christian Burial at Ss Peter and Paul Church in Plains. | |
