STROUDSBURG/STROUD TWP., MONROE COUNTY -- Police in Monroe County are investigating two violent crimes which happened within an hour of each other.
The first was an attempted robbery at the Shell Gas Station on McConnell Street in Stroudsburg. Cops say two men demanded money from the clerk around 6:30 Saturday night.
One of the bandits threw a rock at the worker. It hit him in the head. The suspects weren't able to get any money.
Just about an hour later police say there was an armed home invasion at a home on North Fifth Street in Stroud Township.
Two college students who live inside were held-up at gunpoint by two masked men. The thieves stole several items but the students were not hurt.
Police are looking into whether the two crimes are connected. | |
