EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Several purses were stolen in Luzerne County Thursday. Now two people are under arrest for the crimes. One of the thefts was caught on camera.

Police say the suspects admitted they preyed on the elderly. They felt the elderly could not fight back, or at least chase them down.

The two alleged thieves are 27-year-old Jason Edwards and 23-year-old Tanya Karasinski. Both say they are homeless.

They were nabbed by Nanticoke police Thursday night. They admit they are the suspects seen in security video taken at the Price Chopper in Edwardsville.

They were driving a stolen car and swiped the purse of a 74-year-old woman. This crime was one of four thefts they carried out in Luzerne County over a three hour period.

Nanticoke police spotted the suspect vehicle and busted Edwards and Karasinski late Thursday night.
