WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- Police spent Saturday afternoon at what was believed to be a standoff on the 600 block of Blackman Street.

Police from several agencies surrounded a home there and were seen running around wearing protective gear and carrying rifles and shotguns.

Just before 6:00 P. M. that standoff ended peacefully. Sources at the scene say it started with a domestic disturbance and then there was some type of miscommunication which led police to believe there were hostages and weapons involved.

However that did not turn out to be the case and police left the scene.
