SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- State Police say an unidentified 17-year-old Blue Mountain High School student was planning an attack of some sort at the school. The plan was never carried out. Instead, police arrested him in Pottsville. Investigators say they later found a cache of weapons, military and paramilitary gear at his North Manheim Township home.

Police say a number of students at the school came forward and told teachers about the plot. The suspect was arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of attempted homicide and terroristic threats. He is being held at the Schuylkill County Jail on $100,000 bail.

A news conference is planned for Friday afternoon.
