ORWIGSBURG, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY-A significant date in Orwigsburg's history.
June 2nd is the 50th anniversary of a propane tanker explosion on route 61 in Schuylkill County.
11 people were killed and 12 others injured.
The accident prompted a move to make fuel trucks safer.
Tonight the community gathered to remember and to honor the victims.
Zion's red church held the prayer memorial as a healing service for the community.
A member of Dean Myers' family was on the bus "When the school bus stopped the tanker stopped and the driver of the freight truck said his foot slipped off the brake and ended up colliding with the back of the tanker creating a leak."

A collection also made tonight for a monument and memorial garden for the victims.
