WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY-

A special gathering in Lycoming County Thursday night for volunteers..

WBRE-TV News at a recognition and awards dinner for the "Yokefellow Prison Ministry."

The event brings together people from the court and prison system along with volunteers and potential volunteers.

The purpose is to say thank you and to let others know about the work of the ministry.

Jack Schrader of the Upper Susquehanna Valley Yokefellow Ministry talked about the work of the ministry , "Yoke Fellow Ministry is a ministry of hope and reconciliation...We send volunteers into the many prisons we have about 45-50 volunteers enter the prisons now at 10 different locations on at least a weekly basis."

They tell us they make a big difference in the lives of those behind bars.
