SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The city of Scranton is keeping watch on a vacant lot that has been the subject of neighborhood complaints.

The lot at Colfax and Gibbson is over grown and has been the scene of illegal dumping.

Mark Seitzinger, Code Enforcement Office, said the city has been aware of the problem for some time.

He said the previous owner was cited by police on at least two occasions.

Seitzinger says the property was sold recently, and that the new owner has promised to clean the lot and cut some of the trees.

That work is expected to begin by mid December.
