SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Less than a week after neighbors complained about a dilapidated house in South Scranton the property has been demolished.

Jackie Stevens of South Webster Avenue sent an e-mail to WYOU and WBRE TV after two years of complaining that failed to result in any action about what she called a dangerous home next to her house.

Stevens said the house was abandoned and falling apart when she moved into her home in 2005.

A check with the city reveled that the owner had hired a contractor to take down the building.

Demolition equipment was brought to the scene, but it sat unused for several weeks.

To the delight of Stevens, six days after WYOU and WBRE aired a story about the house, it was ripped down.
