Questions Over Ambulance Response in Mountain Top
Questions Over Ambulance Response in Mountain Top - Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 5:25PM EST
MOUNTAIN TOP, LUZERNE COUNTY- A public meeting is set for Tuesday night concerning ambulance response times. The issue came to the forefront after several people complained they had long waits for ambulance help in the Mountain Top area.
Susie Kaminski of Rice Township fell in her backyard in November and shattered her leg. A neighbor found her and called 9-1-1. It took an ambulance more than a half-hour to reach her.
The closest ambulance, Mountain Top, did not have a crew. “There should be some sort of schedule figured out where somebody can be available to at least drive the ambulance to come to the aid of someone, if that can't be possible, if no coverage is possible to help someone there should be other arrangement without waiting such a long time," said Kaminski.
The meeting starts at 7:00 P. M. at the Rice Township Municipal Building. | |
