Racing Boats Ready to Rev Up in Lock Haven

Racing Boats Ready to Rev Up in Lock Haven - Friday, June 11, 2010 at 04:13AM EST

The racing boats are headed back to Lock Haven a little early this year.

This weekend- for the first time ever- the Clinton County city will host boat races in June.

Organizers hope the June races will become an annual event- just like their yearly Labor Day Regatta.

We found a few junior class boaters who say this is a family event you won't want to miss.

11-year-old Wayne Adams, of Virginia, said, "It's the intensity that lets people come out and just watch either the grown-ups or the kids just racing. I think it's a lot of fun even if you're not racing."

The Lock Haven Jaycees are also planning an old-fashioned carnival for this weekend.

All the action kicks off Saturday morning at 10am.
