WILKES-BARRE -- "Preserve Our Heritage" that's what a bed sheet decorated with black spray paint by members of the Keystone State Skinheads said as it dangled over the Market Street Bridge.

The sheet-sign comes just days after fliers for the organization posted fliers in Shickshinny and Pittston. Shortly after two young girls who were not affiliated with group, were arrested for spray painting Nazi symbols and other graffiti on the Ohav Zedek Synagogue.

Why the sudden surge in racist activity? Are the major political issues of the day dividing people so deeply that hate groups can capitalize on the rage and emotion? If the young women are found guilty of defacing the temple what is a fitting punishment? How should the community respond?

WYOU Interactive discusses the issue with Arthur Breese of the Luzerne County Diversity Commission, Psychologist Robert Griffin and Dr. Linda Trompetter of Misericordia University. The show also receives a call from Stev Smith of Keystone State Skinheads.
