Luzerne County Greg Skrepenak used a power point presentation to explained his "action plan" he wants to stop tax reassessment."I will make a motion to the Luzerne County Board of Commissioners to stop implementation of the plan. We need more than 30 says its a 40 year problem can't be solved in 40 days or 70 days it has to be done and it has to be done right."
This comes one day after fellow commissioner Mary Ann Petrilla said she wanted a 30 day extension to the plan. Skrepnak said he wants 21st Century Appraisals to continue the process and to continue tax appeal hearings but not to implement the values. He also called for an investigation into how the data was collected.

Skrepnak added "I'm not accusing anyone of being a criminal what I am doing taking information for and putting my action plan in place. I've heard from so many people questioning the way they collected the data."

Taxpayers, like Luanne Horsefield of Dallas Township say, they want the reassessment stopped no matter what. "I say its very good we need to reach out to seniors shut-ins its confused allot of people they don't have the help."
Aurdrey Simpson of Shavertown says she agrees with Commissioner Skrepenak "I'm very happy about it. being that so many people are confused."
Commissioners Petrilla and Urban told Eyewitness on Friday they will not second the motion or vote for it.
They insist that the process must continue for now and they will see how it plays out in October or November.
They say tis too early to simply stop it now in August.
Commissioner Petrilla says she will make the same motion to stop it ,if the reassessment values are not fair.
