SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The Republican candidates for Lackawanna County Commissioner have filed a petition asking the court to order a hand count of some of the ballots cast in Tuesday's General Election.
Incumbent Commissioners Bob Cordaro and A.J. Munchack were apparently defeated by challengers Mike Washo and Corey O'Brien.
Cordaro and Munchack are separated by just over 100 votes for the Minority Commissioners' seat.
Cordaro said the pattern of the vote count makes the county suspicious.
Washo and O'Brien maintained a slightly better than two to one lead throughout the counting process.
Cordaro says that's very unusual. He says candidates tend to hit highs and lows as votes come in from various parts of the county.
A hearing on the request to check a sample number of ballots will be conducted Friday in Lackawanna County.
