HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- People protesting a proposed asphalt plant meant standing room only at the Hazle Township Zoning Board meeting.

An official from Glenn O. Hawbaker Incorporated, based in State College, wants to build a stone crushing plant near Lattimer and Pardeesville. People who live in nearby villages don't want it because they people it will lead to more health problems.

Opponents of the asphalt plant have already signed petitions and say they will go to court to sight the plant. Hawbaker officials say they are taking steps to make sure it does not pose a threat.

No word on when the zoning board will make a decision.
