Monday April 12 2010
LENOX TWP., SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY -- The fire that destroyed a landmark restaurant in Susquehanna County has been ruled arson. State police say they've got a 19-year-old suspect in custody.

Daniel Parsons, Jr. of New Milford confessed to setting the fire while being questioned by investigators at the Gibson barracks. They say he is an employee of the restaurant and also a volunteer firefighter.

Police say he lit some cardboard boxes on fire to start the blaze that destroyed Bingham's Restaurant, a real estate company and a gun shop. Investigators described Parsons as a "disgruntled employee."

About 100 firefighters from three counties battled the blaze. Parsons, a volunteer with the New Milford Fire Company, was one of the firefighters who responded to the blaze.
