Restaurant Offers It's Own "Stimulus Plan"

Restaurant Offers It's Own "Stimulus Plan" - Friday, March 27, 2009 at 5:29PM EST

Hughesville, Lycoming County-

A local restaurant is turning to a good deal and a bit of humor to combat the tough economic times.

A sign in front of Kathy’s Café in Hughesville advertises the return of all-you-can-eat chicken and waffles on Thursdays.

But read the fine print on this stimulus package. The offer’s not available to anyone who received an “AIG bonus.”

The owner of Cathy’s says she just wants to lend a helping hand to her customers.

Owner Tracy Clayton explained, “We used to do it in the past when my mom first opened the place, and it was always on Thursdays all day long. Very popular menu item all year long.”

Customers at the restaurant say every little bit helps. And we’re told the chicken and waffles here are fantastic.
