Returning to the Scene of the Murder

Returning to the Scene of the Murder - Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 6:25PM EST

Eyewitness News traveled back to the neighborhood where Bryan Kocis was killed in Dallas Township .

Mike Parsons lives next door and bought the property where Kocis’ house once lived.

Kocis was murdered before his house was burned down in January 2007.

Parsons said, "Most of the neighbors felt that he didn't deserve that. You know, he was a good neighbor, he never bothered anybody. "

Parsons was out of town the night of the murder.

He couldn't believe what he saw when he came back.

Ashes and rubble replaced Kocis' house.

"The fire blew his bathroom window out and the glass was over agaist our house,” said Parsons.

Parsons and his family lived next to Kocis for years.

When arrests were made in his murder, Parsons says neighbors watched the news every step of the way.

"Oh I think they're all watching it, they are. They're all interested," said Parsons.

Many of those neighbors on quiet midland drive still don't want to talk about that night.

Some told us off camera they never knew Kocis was a big player in the world of gay pornography.

Parsons says he looked past that, but can't get past how

Harlow Cuadra denied killing Kocis.

Parsons said, "I think he's lying through his teeth."

Cuadra was found guilty and will face either life in prison or the death penalty.
