SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY- Opening statements are expected Monday morning in a Northumberland County murder trial.

Richard Curran is accused of fatally shooting his estranged wife Tina outside the hospital where she worked. Police say it happened in front of the Shamokin Area Community Hospital back in August of 2005.

Investigators say the couple was in the middle of a child custody battle when the fatal shooting went down.
