HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- PennDOT wants to know what people think about a roadway extension in lower Luzerne County.

A meeting was held Tuesday night in Hazle Township to discuss the proposed extension of Route 424. The roadway will help ease traffic on busy Route 924. PennDOT says with the continued development of the Humbolt Industrial Park the road is needed.

Kevin Atkins told Eyewitness News, "We are looking at a new road to ease the congestion and increase the safety on Route 924."

For the most part residents agree the extension is needed. But they don't want the development to interfere with the local water supply.
