DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY-
Dozens of people turned out tonight to help disaster victims in Lackawanna County for the Red Cross.
A benefit was held tonight for the Red Cross at Hometown Heroes in Dunmore.
Doors opened at 4:00 o'clock... And there was already a big crowd when we stopped by just before 6.
All of the money raised will go towards disaster relief efforts and supplies.
Brian Wrightsonof theAmerican Red Cross says "We cover 46 municipalities. Already this year, we've had 39 structure fires and have helped more than 180 people with fires, floods and bizzards. This event helped fund that, replenish some of the funding."
Red cross volunteers say they've already served more than five-thousand drinks and hundreds of meals to firefighters and police. | | |
