SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A milestone was reached on the basketball court Thursday night.

Doug Persing, a junior at the Scranton School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, scored his 1,000th career point. Persing just needed 16 points to reach the goal and he did it.

The 6'4" center is only the 9th player in the school's long history to reach this milestone.
