SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Over the course of this election season the city of Scranton has been in the spotlight for many positive things. But this weekend, it’s a little different…
In a Saturday Night Live skit a character imitating Joe Biden called the Electric City a “hell hole” and “the absolute worst place on earth.”
It’s a designation that's split opinions in Scranton. C. J. Knott of Scranton said, “I thought it was very offensive because I’ve lived in Scranton all my life and he's dropping stuff about my town, my city."
But Rick from Scranton said, “He's right about Scranton. It’s a dump. I agree with him 100 percent!"
In the skit the city of Scranton was also called a “genetic cesspool.”
